Has anyone had experience with Japanese Hair Straightening or Brazilian Blow Out/Keratin Straightening? I have VERY thick, curly hair. It is naturally poofy and frizzy. I'm sick of constantly straightening it.

My boyfriend is Hispanic and has super super curly, EXTREMELY thick hair. He wants to get Japanese hair straightening done, so I've found a salon with a good reputation and good prices (Oz NYC) but I was wondering if anyone here had any advice or comments on what to expect?  Last summer I got my hair Japanese straightened and I loved it. But now the top and the underneath roots are waving up again. While it's little enough to touch up with a straight iron, my hair doesn't hold it. Which is why I got it done in the first place.

I recently got my hair Japanese Straightened (chemically relaxed) and it is freaking awesome. I don't have pictures of before and after together yet...
